Fault phenomenon:

The seller described that the temperature of the notebook was too high to play games, and it was burned. When it got angry, it threw the notebook into the bathtub, and even the charger was not dialed. The water was short-circuited and the graphics card did not recognize the card.

Maintenance process:

Recycling an ASUS ZX53VW notebook, you can pour water out of the notebook, and quickly disassemble the motherboard. The interior is a mess with obvious electrolytic traces. The motherboard didn’t take pictures.

Remove the motherboard, unplug the battery, remove the screen, break the black tape of the screen, and the logic board of the COF line is covered with water droplets. Wipe it up and have a short sun. The bare motherboard is flushed under the tap, and the keyboard, ABCD shell, memory and M2 solid state drive are all cleaned and then dried.

Look at the motherboard first. The chip capacitor at the power supply of the graphics card is short-circuited and burnt. Measure it with a multimeter. If it is short-circuited at 19V, then remove the capacitor and solve the short-circuit. The resistance values of the major power supply inductors are normal, and the power-on standby current is normal at 0.21.

Plug in the memory, just ready to press the power on, as a result, the notebook automatically turns on, and the fan is like an electric shock and twitches, and the current jumps rapidly between 0.2 and 0.5. Short circuit is good, and now it is a new problem of power failure.

I found a point bitmap and compared it with a multimeter. In the figure below, the resistance value of the chip pin power supply connection was originally 499K and became infinite.

The place below is a common problem. I found a 470K and put it on. The standby is normal and it doesn’t start automatically. Poke the boot needle, and the power will not be cut off, and the current will run to 0.7 and 0.8, then poke the boot needle and shut down normally.

Connect the dried screen, plug it in, turn it on, the screen is bright, the ASUS LOGO appears, and it automatically enters the BIOS. Even the screen that has taken a shower is not broken or bright.

The dried memory is powered on and turned on, and then it slips into the system, and then it is tested for small functions. It is no problem to insert the mouse to try each USB port, voice and two network cards. I opened the device manager and looked at the graphics card. I found that the discrete graphics card really didn’t recognize it, showing a solitary INTEL 530:L:L in the adapter.

The position with short circuit and severe electrolysis is powered by the graphics card, so it is too likely to break through the GPU, and the graphics card is not powered. After another operation, I found a resistance of 499K and it became infinite.

Put on a 470K resistor, plug it in, turn it on, and the current instantly jumps to 1.1 and 1.3. When the current is high, it means that the graphics card can be recognized. Insert the monitor into the system on the hard disk and enter the device manager. Sure enough, 960M appears.

Finally, try the keyboard. After assembly, press the power-on key on the keyboard to start normally, and the backlight red light of the keyboard on the desktop is normal, and all the keys are normal after testing.

At this point, the motherboard has been repaired. A total of 7 capacitors and 2 patch resistors were replaced, and the cost was negligible. This notebook was successfully missed.
